Sunburns and Tan Lines

Hello family and friends!

This week has been pretty awesome for the most part. The weather has been so nice! Could you tell by the subject of this email? Yep, I already have sunburns…and I’m getting some SWEET (sarcasm) tan lines. Just one of the perks of being a missionary I guess!

It has been really nice though to have good weather. We have done a lot of walking this week! There have been a lot of people outside doing yard work, so it gives us an opportunity to serve people. If anything it is even better because we can talk to people! We have been making it a goal to talk to everyone and hand out more pass along cards. This week we have been doing so much better at it! I am finally getting more confident with myself and I am not as scared to go up and talk to people like I used to be.

This week, we had an awesome lesson with our golden investigator (C). As a mission, we have been pushing on getting our investigators rooted in the Book of Mormon, and so we have come out with a lesson (that isn’t in preach my gospel) for us to use to help us accomplish that. I don’t know if other missions are using this lesson or not, but it is a good lesson that gives all of us a new perspective on the Book of Mormon. Since coming out on my mission, my testimony and love for the Book of Mormon has increased, but being able to study this lesson about the Book of Mormon and then teach it to our investigators has made my testimony increase even more. It really is a book that is for our benefit. It can help bring the spirit into our homes and it can answer questions that we may have.

Friday was probably one of the best days this week and one of the reasons is because we got two new investigators! Sister Standage and I have been praying for new investigators and our prayers were finally answered! They are an older couple, but we had a really good conversation with them and were able to talk a little bit about the gospel with them. They told us we could come back and teach them more, so we are going over to their house again tonight and hopefully we will be able to teach them about the restoration.

Yesterday was a wonderful Easter. We had stake conference this weekend, so we got to hear from our wonderful stake president, and we had Elder Snow, the church historian presiding at the meeting, so we got to hear from him as well. We also got to hear from President and Sister Porter and a couple from the Chicago temple presidency. It was a really good stake conference and we were able to feel the spirit. Our golden investigator (C) came to stake conference. He had a few questions about why we didn’t celebrate Good Friday. They were answered at stake conference. One of the speakers also quoted a scripture that we had told him to read the other day. It was funny because he asked us if we had talked to the speakers beforehand to make sure they answered his questions. Thank heavens for the Spirit to answer our questions! We explained to him that we hadn’t talked to the speakers and that it was by the spirit that his questions were answered. It was awesome!

I hope you all enjoyed Easter. What a wonderful time it was to reflect on our Savior Jesus Christ and all that he did for us. I am so grateful for him and his sacrifice, all because he loves us. πŸ™‚ I hope you got a chance to watch the Easter video put out by the church called “Because of Him“. It was on the main page of YouTube yesterday and many members shared it on Facebook. It is a really good video, so if you didn’t get a chance to see it, watch it! If you saw it, watch it again! It’s just a really good video. πŸ™‚

I love you all! I hope you had a great week this past week, as well as a great Easter, and I hope your week this week is a great one as well!
