Baptism

Hello folks! Ready for this… okay then here we go.

This week was pretty great. We had a zone meeting where we had some training and got to hear from the zone leaders and sister training leaders. It was pretty good and the spirit was strong! I love zone meetings where we can all learn together. We also had a special training on Wednesday with President and Sister Porter. The assistants gave us a little bit of training on things that we can do to improve in our areas. We also got to hear from Elder and Sister Dunn, who are the missionary doctors in our mission as well as like 14 other missions. Yeah, they cover a lot of missionaries, but they came and talked to us about stress and our health and things like that. It was pretty interesting.

M's Baptism

This weekend we had a baptism. Yep! Wahoo. (M), our investigator that we have only been teaching for about a month finally got baptized. She is so awesome! I have to tell you the crazy story that happened though. We got a call from the Elders, because they were at the church filling up the font for us. They couldn’t turn on the font! It wasn’t working! In very calm voices they told us to just pray and they would figure something out. So we did. They ended up hooking a hose up in the church, in the member custodial closet and putting it in the font to fill it up that way. So now the font is at least getting filled up. Phew! At least for a little bit. After a bit, the water started coming out freezing cold! Now what?? The Elders went into the kitchen and started boiling water and putting bowls in the microwave to heat the water up, and then they were dumping hot water into the font, while it filled up with the hose. (Aren’t our Elders awesome! they do so much for us…) Anyway, we finally figured out the problem and got the font to turn on, but (M) got baptized in really cold water. We were never able to get the temperature up. Talk about an adventure!! Satan didn’t want her to get baptized….but it finally happened and she was confirmed a member of the church and given the gift of the Holy Ghost yesterday at church. Wahoo! 🙂

I don’t know if I told you about the iPad April fool’s joke or not, but we didn’t end up getting IPads at the special training this week…bummer! OH well, who knows when we will get them.

The weather out here is fantastic…So far. I for sure can feel the humidity starting to come really bad. Ugh! My hair is a little crazy…We will see how a summer of humidity goes for me. Indiana really is beautiful though. The snow is all melted and the grass is so green! Sister Standage and I just want to lay in it sometimes. 🙂
Our awesome investigator (C) came to church yesterday! He said he really enjoyed it! He also got to meet more men in the ward, which was good for him so that he is more comfortable coming to church.

That’s about it for this week. I hope things are going well for y’all back at home. I sure do love staying updated on the wonderful things happening. I hope this week is a great one for ya! I love you all! 🙂

Love,
Sister Palmer

PS: Sister Standage and I decided to start off this awesome next transfer with making ugly faces…Yeah we have good times. 🙂
