Throughout the ages, God has spoken with prophets and given counsel and/or commandments to His followers. In January of 1831, once again he spoke to a prophet, Joseph Smith, with a commandment for a missionary to go teach the gospel in Ohio. That missionary was James Covel.
In August of that same year, Joseph Smith himself was told to go preach with Sidney Rigdon and Oliver Cowdrey in Ohio…specifically in Cincinnati. It was at that time that the Ohio Cincinnati mission was opened to the preaching of the restored gospel.
On August 27, 2013, through another prophet (Thomas S. Monson), Kayla Palmer was called to be a missionary in the Ohio Cincinnati mission. She was to enter the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah on December 18, 2013. She will teach the gospel in English. She will “invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.”
This blog has been created to allow you to follow Kayla’s adventures in what could be one of the greatest opportunities to serve other and receive blessings from God. Read the letters, look at the pictures, leave a comment, and share the fun. You can participate as much as you want.
